'Unless one has a glimpse of the spiritual within , humans will always be clamoring for material things’- Ranjit Makkuni------------------- In this fast paced life with an influx of rapid audio visual bombardments, high aspirations, endless choices, healing for self and the planet can come through stopping and resting in the silence of present moment.............. Moksha is.... space to dissolve ignorance through knowledge, ‘I’ through experience, to touch the underlying timeless dimension present in all things. Moksha is envisioned as a space of sharing of experiences and knowledge from the travels through life, to trigger reflection, evoke inner journeys and contribute to a green, more sensitive living. Features, verses, anecdotes, sacred knowledge and wisdom drawn from across the world from any and everywhere ..... Nature, spiritual systems , arts, textiles, clothing, music, dance, learning methods.....also, stories of love, hope and humanity in real life. Moksha strives to value, preserve and grow all that reclaims the beautiful experience that being alive is. Moksha is a celebration of life in all it's flavours........ Ritu Jain..... ©2010 Ritu Jain

Woman

A girl
a woman
a daughter
a sister
a mother
a wife
a friend
a colleague
washing
cleaning
combing her hair
playing
holding
listening
working
tirelessly, silently
to make a space for herself
without losing herself
without altering herself
open and vulnerable
she walks
to allow all to see her
to permeate her being
to know her as she is
and in knowing
to know them selves reflected in turn
to accept her as she is
in turn to cleanse their own being
walking nude, so all may see their nudity
know the strength, the humility
the vulnerability, the pride
of being as creation made her to be
woman
cosmic mother

An insight...

Humans have a choice...to be or not to be, warm...and, to whom to be warm...all other forms of life are natural...choicelessly giving...exhuding presence. Thats why we need to save plant and animal life.Only human beings , knowingly or unknowingly lock it up in mental frameworks

 Still...within
by Aliashesh
The Spirit moves and does not keep still.  It moves away from the beginning and returns after going round the universe, to begin yet another cycle and yet another.

All those trajectories of the spirit form patterns.  The spirit is unmoving in its endless search for the eternal.

And the eternal eludes the search lying somewhere beyond; sometimes the eternal lies in the vacant spaces not covered by the paths of spirit.  Yet the search goes on without beginning and without end.

You only hear the intimations of the eternal sometimes, when you stand still and look at the whole process of yet another beginning and yet another.

That look dissolves all the yearnings and brings the search to its denouement.  There is no finale, only flowering.

Life is a movement of the spirit and the eternal is the stillness within the movement.

Devotion

"The woman stitches threads
that are subtle,
and the intensity
of her devotion
make them fine!" - from Monica O neal's quotes

Here 'woman' refers not to the  gender but the quality of the feminine which is naturally devotional. Sufi's aspire for the divine as their lover( saiyyan, kabir referred to 'sahib') while self being the female lover. Human being becomes receptive, a receptacle for something of the subtle to come through into the visible world. Kabir wrote poetry, Sufi's whirl to dissolve into the rhythm and then they become a shower of blessings. At the end of the whirling, the dervish moves through the audience with his skirt high up in the sky. this skirt is an umbrella taking all into the embrace of blessings . This quality exists in every human being and can,in a way, be cultivated.
Devotion has a wonderful quality to turn human endeavour into divine. Each one can aspire to become a conduit through every breath. It requires no training or instruction, simply a heart felt wish, that awakens one to the inner guide and gently leads the way most  appropriate for one...

From every day

It's interesting how we have found ways of connecting with our neighbours on facebook and twitter, than pick the phone or jump the wall... in a bid to connect with more people, more quickly...also, it takes more time

For some reason, a lot of people I vibe with tend to be atleast 10 years older than me . Here is what one of them recently wrote to me:

"Whenever my in-laws are here, we have a nice time, going out for a walk or to the shopping complex.  With advancing years, every small activity requires big effort and my f-i-law feels happy to have performed it.  He has a habit of greeting every one on the road.  He is bent from waist upwards and when he walks onlookers cannot help feel that he would fall any moment.  I hold his left hand.  So we become quite a sight on the road.  Two elderly women in the neighbourhood expressed their appreciation.  One said,"seeing you makes me feel so good," and the other said,"looking at you one gets positive energy".  This time we also added carrom to our activities.  Every evening we play carrom. "

He is/has been Director of educational institutions. What a wonderfully delightful and touching way of simply being and small acts that make a difference....

...a lot of what we do every day and brings quality to our life, has little to do with the political scams and such that dominate our media , unfortunately...

It's time to meditate

With the triple calamities that have struck Japan , never more is it necessary to meditate to raise our consciousness than now.

Why and how, some may ask? its time for action

To raise our consciousness that will allow us to see beyond the disaster and the destruction, to connect with the inner source of life and knowing, of  wisdom and direction to take correct action in the midst of this catastrophe, action's that arise from deep compassion and not despair. to raise the spirit of all , to send our positive vibes , to purify the subtle environment that silently strengthens all. In a subtle way we are all victims of this and affected by it...and so we can all be part of the healing process...right in our own homes and offices...

Being in Action

Oneness

I had gone on a trip to a little hill station, which still carried the quaint old world charm in those days, with no commercialization thanks to the military cantonment. In those days, is only about 5-6 years back , but the rate at which cities and people change in their landscapes and lifestyles, it can seem like decades.
So I was   walking down one morning, to one of the few sight seeing spots in town which was a little hanuman temple where he is said to have placed his foot on way to bringing the sanjivni buti. The road spiralled along the mountain like all mountain trails facing the (perhaps) Chandigarh valley below on the other side at  a distance. There was a stream of thoughts and conversations running through the mind. Exhausted by its incessant chatter, I said in my mind “ Shut up ” and immediately the machinery of this mind stopped . Suddenly the whole valley and my experience just transformed. Everything became viscous and visceral around me as though I was moving in an ocean. The road below my feet, the valley below, the mountain across and ones next to me covered with ancient tall pine trees and the sky became one. I could feel as if I was spread all over extending through to the skies. I felt a oneness and knowingness within of the relative grossness of all matter. Theory of relativity seemed a living walking experience. The roads and the mountains being one kind of density and the trunks of the high pines being subtler , their leaves still subtler and then the clouds and skies thinning into almost nothing, pure light. Everything felt more alive as I moved on, sitting along the road to simply soak in the valley. The sounds of the trees and birds sang clearly in the silence that felt deeper and clearer. Everything seemed to exist , move and happen in an emptiness, which was oceanic and full. Words are simply inadequate to express , but i hope they can somewhat hint towards the experience. As I climbed the little hillock a top which was the temple, there were rocks along the pathway that had mantras written on them and though I didn’t know or understand most of them, I seemed to soak them in by osmosis . A wordless sense of friendliness and care emanated towards all people and children walking up. Soon foggy mists came wafting through and seemed to pass  through me. I sat at every turn to take in the freshness of nature. I didn’t quite realize it’s significance then other thanthe aliveness. As I came down and walked back there was a cottage from which a beautiful music came, some one was playing the Piano or a record. I stood gazing out to the mountains listening to the music which was sweeter to the ears.
This profound experience lasted about 4  1/2-5 hours until I met the other people in our group and played hand cricket with them.
Its much later I realized, that I’d experienced Oneness of all creation and probably known first hand the existence of things as vibrations and awareness of their relative grossness , what Einstien would have deciphered by mathematics as theory of relativity. Ways of existence are as simple as this and this can be experienced by anyone ...

" To create something, you have to have enormous love for the world and life around you. Its only when you have so much love that you want to make the world more beautiful....."

Was Gautam Buddha creative?
What did he create?
